This is a five-day Retreat designed to develop your writing craft in a peaceful environment, with the Silk Road Slippers team at hand to give guidance and support. It will give you a chance to make time for yourself, to escape the pressures and obligations of daily life and focus on your writing. Held in a beautiful Queen Anne mansion on the banks of the River Avon near Bath, it is in an inspiring location where you won’t have to think about anything but writing.

Every day will begin with a writing prompt to get you started and give inspiration. There will be group sessions on two mornings during which we discuss your work and look at other authors’ techniques.

Afternoons are kept free for you to focus on your writing in one of the graceful reception rooms or in the idyllic gardens. In the evenings we will gather around the dining table for a delicious meal and conversation.

We also offer two private one-to-one sessions to each participant, with in-depth feedback on your writing. These give you a chance to discuss anything about your work or your literary ambitions with experienced editors and writers who can help you on your journey.
