Appliqué ralli quilt

Handmade by women in the villages of the Thar desert, we have available one rare mid-century ralli quilt in excellent condition. Made entirely by hand using appliqué, patchwork and embroidery, the history of the motifs and patterns goes back to the Bronze Age Indus Valley Civilisation. To the modern, indeed modernist, eye, it has more than a touch of Matisse to it. Sustainable by its very nature, this extraordinary statement piece becomes a quilt in summer, a bedcover in winter and a showstopping hanging to transform any living space.
