Handmade wooden serving tray from Pakistan

£95.00

Painted by hand on a solid wooden base, the motifs of this exceptional tray brings together the region's rich history of folk imagery with the riotous, exuberant sensibility that is is the soul of Truck Art in opalescent orange, glowing aquaramarine and Kashmiri tea pink. It is further embellished with a collage of stickerwork and chamakpatti - silver leaf - creating a piece that is uniquely beautiful - and could have come straight from Matisse’s studio.

The tray is sturdy and practical for everyday use but also so lovely, one may wish to set it upon a surface or mount on a wall to admire as a piece of art.

Dimensions: 30cm x 20cm x 5cm
